Just had to share how nice it was to grab lunch with a former student. This young man (who graduated from my old school), lives on his own, works at a car repair shop, and showed up for lunch in his convertible Mazda. We chatted as he was on his lunch break, with his blue shirt on, name embroidered on a patch. It was 3 years since I'd seen him, and to listen to him talk about the ups and downs of work, customers, the boss, money, friends, and his parents was awesome! We talked about the old days at my school and which high school friends he was keeping in touch with. He runs a side hustle buying, fixing up, and selling older cars to fund his hobbies. So cool seeing a former student living a full life on his own. I'm proud of you!
