It comes and goes, obviously to different degrees in all of us, yet for some it can be crippling. In working with students for 18 years, I've seen how this can hijack one's ability to navigate the day and manage all of one's responsibilities through the teenage and young adult years. I enjoyed this 11-min Chasing Life podcast with Dr. Sanjay Gupta on CNN, as it identifies how social anxiety rears its ugly head as well as shares expert strategies for in-the-moment solutions. In my years working with Autism students, this issue is very common as many students avoided social interactions and isolated in order to temper their feelings of anxiety. I'm hoping this helps!
