Teaching Self-Regulation Skills with 1st-Graders



We loved hearing this story from npr.org about students in Connecticut building ways of recognizing and managing stress, nervousness, and unpleasant feelings using sock puppets as models for 'shaking out the yuck.' There's a positive trend of encouraging kids to identify and embrace all sorts of feelings as well as teaching strategies to handle the 'yuck' in life. We appreciate the 'Feel Your Best Self' program from the University of Connecticut and how it is being implemented in the classroom. Check out the links below:
