We loved hearing this story from npr.org about students in Connecticut building ways of recognizing and managing stress, nervousness, and unpleasant feelings using sock puppets as models for 'shaking out the yuck.' There's a positive trend of encouraging kids to identify and embrace all sorts of feelings as well as teaching strategies to handle the 'yuck' in life.
