Turning FOMO into JOMO

Plum Village, in France, is a Buddhist community founded by Thich Nhat Hanh, a Zen Master originally from Vietnam. His teachings continue with a community of monastics and lay people who practice and teach mindfulness around the world.

In one of my favorite podcast sessions, led by speakers Phap Huu (Thich Nhat Hanh's personal attendant) and Jo Confino, they discuss mindfulness in the modern age while taking questions from a live audience in London. The discussion focuses on interactions they've had with groups interested in navigating an incessantly noisy and demanding world, while also offering ideas on how to step aside towards a more peaceful existence. I particularly like the Q & A session where the discussion of FOMO (fear of missing out) leads to Phap Huu's response being the perfect antidote to the demands of social media and broadcasting one's life online.
